Real workshop, real bench, real micro-soldering
The most common Xbox jobs we see from Rufford and the surrounding villages — same prices as the main Xbox page, same-day turnaround, same warranty.
HDMI port replacement
The most common Xbox repair. Micro-soldering on the main board, new port fitted and tested. Same-day if dropped off before 2pm.
Overheating & deep clean
Full strip-down, heat sink and PSU clean, fresh thermal paste on the APU. Brings a console that crashes mid-game back to running cool.
Disc drive replacement
Disc-edition Xboxes with grinding noises, no-eject or read errors.
No-power diagnosis
Completely dead Xbox? Component-level fault finding with thermal camera and current injection. Either fixed or no-fee.
Eject button & power button repair
Sticky, unresponsive or failed eject and power buttons on Series X, Series S and Xbox One consoles. Membrane swap or board-level fix depending on cause.
Full Xbox pricing on the pricing page. No quote forms, no hidden fees.
Frequently asked
Closer drive than going into Ormskirk for Xbox repair?
For most Rufford addresses, yes. Rufford to the workshop via Mere Brow is around 10 minutes; Rufford to Ormskirk centre via the A59 is similar but with town-centre parking and queues. Our Southport workshop runs drop-off-and-collect, no faff. And for board-level Xbox work — HDMI port replacement, no-power diagnosis — we're the only specialist option in either direction.
My Xbox One disc drive grinds and won't accept discs anymore. Worth fixing?
Depends on the model and the rest of the console. On a Series X or Series S — yes, drive replacement is a sensible spend on a console worth £200-£350. On an old launch-model Xbox One worth £40-£60 second-hand — usually not. We'll give you a straight answer before starting work. The diagnosis is no-fix-no-fee, so a 10-minute drive over costs you nothing if it isn't worth it.
Do you do Xbox modding or just stock repair work?
Stock repair only. We don't do modchipping, hardware modifications, or anything that changes the console from how Microsoft shipped it. We're a repair workshop, not a mod shop. If you want a stock Xbox brought back to working order — HDMI ports, deep clean, disc drive, no-power fixes — that's exactly what we do.
Got a PS5 as well?
We work on PS5 consoles from Rufford just the same — HDMI ports, overheating, disc drives, no-power. Different bench, same engineer.
