Is the Southport workshop closer than driving into Ormskirk for PS5 repair?
For most Rufford addresses, yes. Rufford to the workshop via Mere Brow is around 10 minutes; Rufford to Ormskirk centre via the A59 is similar but with town-centre parking and queues. Our Southport workshop runs drop-off-and-collect, no faff. And for board-level work like HDMI port replacement or UART fixes, we're the only option in either direction.
My grandkids' PS5 stopped working overnight — could it be the disc drive?
If it powers on but won't read discs, makes grinding noises, or ejects everything you put in — yes, almost certainly the disc drive. PS5 drives are mechanical and they wear out. We can replace the drive (about £80 including the part) or, if you'd prefer, swap to a digital-only setup if the rest of the console is fine. Either way, a 10-minute drive over for a same-day diagnosis.
Do you do PS5 controller repairs as well, like stick drift?
No — we don't repair controllers. Stick drift, modding and custom builds need specialist kit and a different skillset to console board work. For DualSense repairs we recommend Nova Controllers Mods & Repairs in Liverpool — proper specialist shop, lifetime warranty on their TMR stick upgrades. We send every controller job their way.
