Is there anywhere closer than the Southport workshop for PS5 repair if I'm in Formby?

Will sand or salt damage from the beach affect what you can fix?
Sand in the vents and ports is mechanical damage, not water damage — it cleans out fine in the deep clean process. Salt-air corrosion on connectors is more serious; if a PS5 has been kept in a coastal garage or conservatory for years it can develop oxidation on the HDMI port pads or PSU contacts. We see this a lot from Formby and Freshfield customers. Diagnosis is free either way.
Can I drop the PS5 off and let the kids stay on the iPad in the car?
