Real workshop, real bench, real micro-soldering

The most common Xbox jobs we see from Formby and the surrounding villages — same prices as the main Xbox page, same-day turnaround, same warranty.

HDMI port replacement

The most common Xbox repair. Micro-soldering on the main board, new port fitted and tested. Same-day if dropped off before 2pm.

Overheating & deep clean

Full strip-down, heat sink and PSU clean, fresh thermal paste on the APU. Brings a console that crashes mid-game back to running cool.

Disc drive replacement

Disc-edition Xboxes with grinding noises, no-eject or read errors.

No-power diagnosis

Completely dead Xbox? Component-level fault finding with thermal camera and current injection. Either fixed or no-fee.

Eject button & power button repair

Sticky, unresponsive or failed eject and power buttons on Series X, Series S and Xbox One consoles. Membrane swap or board-level fix depending on cause.

Full Xbox pricing on the pricing page. No quote forms, no hidden fees.

Common questions from Formby customers

Frequently asked

Are there any Xbox repair specialists between Formby and Liverpool?

Plenty of phone shops along the A565 corridor will take an Xbox in for cosmetic work, but board-level Xbox repairs — HDMI port micro-soldering, no-power diagnosis, dead eFuse work — those need a proper bench, not a phone counter. Our Southport workshop is genuinely the closest place that does these jobs in-house. 14 minutes for a same-day in-house fix beats a 2-week Liverpool mail-out.

My kid's Xbox One is overheating and shutting off mid-game. Fixable for £35?

Yes — that's exactly the deep-clean job. Xbox One consoles (especially the launch-model fat ones) clog up with dust over years and the thermal paste on the APU dries out. Strip-down, deep clean, fresh thermal paste — back to running cool. £35 fixed price. Same-day if dropped off before 2pm. We'd also recommend not standing it inside an enclosed unit going forward — Xbox Ones need airflow.

Will an Xbox repair work out cheaper than a Series S on offer?

Depends what's wrong with it. £35 deep clean on a working-but-overheating Xbox One — yes, much cheaper than £200 for a Series S. £60 HDMI port repair on a Series X — yes, cheaper than £400 for a new Series X. £80 board-level work on an old launch-model Xbox One worth £40 second-hand — probably not worth it. We'll always tell you straight before starting any work. Free no-fix-no-fee diagnosis if you're not sure.
